Stereolithography or SLA is one of the earliest and the most versatile 3D printing technologies. SLA 3d printing builds parts one layer at a time using a highly accurate UV laser to solidify one layer of photosensitive resin, which makes the parts accurate and in good surface.

SLA 3D printing offers one of the widest ranges of material options. The parts are accurate to CAD and have a good surface finish which can be easily improved with post process finishing. The parts need to be built with support structures which are removed during post process. SLA is a good option for prototypes and low volume production.

Advantages of SLA

Material Selection

Material Selection

HLH offers a vast material selection with a range of properties, as well as the ability to print multiple materials and simulate overmolds.

Complex Geometry

Complex Geometry

Creates complex shapes with a high degree of precision that would otherwise be impossible to build via traditional manufacturing processes.

Rapid Turnaround

Rapid Turnaround

Because SLA can create complex and multi-material parts in a single operation, significantly less build time is needed vs. traditional manufacturing.

Precision

Precision

We use the latest generation of SLA technologies to meet tolerances of +/- 0.004” or +/- 0.001” per inch, whichever is greater, and offer both normal and high resolution prints. Please see our Manufacturing Standards for more details.

FAQ's
What is SLA 3D printing?
SLA 3D printing is the most common resin 3D printing process. It’s become very popular over the years due to its ability to produce highly accurate and watertight prototypes and end-use parts in a range of materials with fine features and smooth surfaces.
